Targeting a specific goal with mining?
Choose your Bitcoin target and timeline, and we'll work out the hardware to reach it.
* What we assume
- Production. Sats per month come from the live figure our platform quotes for each rig at today’s difficulty and the site’s rig-performance guarantee, net of Sazmining’s management fee.
- Difficulty. Base case: flat for the first year, then +0.25% a month (about 3% a year). Historically it has risen faster; the selector lets you see what that does.
- Halving. The block subsidy halves around April 2028 (block 1,050,000). We cut production in half from that month on.
- Wild Sats Club. The tier comes from the hashrate of the rigs on this page alone: Bronze from 1 PH/s, Silver from 2.5 PH/s, Gold from 5 PH/s, from month 2. Rigs you already own could raise it.
- Rig count. The smallest whole number of rigs that reaches the goal, so the total can come out a little above it.
- Rig data as of November 3, 2026. Not financial advice.

How Long Does It Take to Mine 1 Bitcoin?
It depends on how much hash rate you put to work. As of November 3, 2026, one Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH hosted in Southeast US mines about 210,785 sats a month. On its own it would take more than 50 years to reach a full Bitcoin. Add rigs and the clock gets shorter:
| Mine 1 BTC in | Rigs needed |
|---|---|
| 1 year | 40 × Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH |
| 2 years | 23 × Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH |
| 3 years | 18 × Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH |
| 4 years | 15 × Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH |
| 5 years | 13 × Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH |
Base case: difficulty flat for a year, then rising about 3% a year, with the halving around April 2028. Rig counts are the smallest whole number that reaches the goal. Move the sliders above to try your own target.
How the Goal Calculator Works
Most mining calculators ask what your hardware will earn. This one works backwards from what you want.
1. Set your Bitcoin target
From a quarter of a Bitcoin to five. That is the stack you want to own at the end.
2. Set your timeline
One to five years. The shorter the timeline, the more hash rate it takes.
3. We work out the rigs
The calculator finds the smallest number of rigs that reaches your target, using each rig's live production figure from our platform.
4. Watch it build up
The chart shows your Bitcoin month by month against your goal, with the halving marked where it lands.
What Decides How Long It Takes
Hash rate
Your share of the Bitcoin you mine is your share of the network's hash rate. Double the terahashes and you halve the time.
Network difficulty
Every 2,016 blocks, about every two weeks, Bitcoin adjusts its difficulty. When more miners join, the same rig mines less. Over the last decade difficulty has mostly gone up, so a goal takes longer than today's numbers suggest.
The halving
About every four years the block reward halves, and so does what every rig mines. The next one is expected around April 2028. A goal that spans it needs more hash rate than one that ends before it.
Uptime and fees
A rig only mines while it runs. Our figures use each site's rig-performance guarantee and are net of Sazmining's management fee, so what the calculator shows is what reaches your wallet.
Mining 1 Bitcoin: Questions
How long does it take to mine 1 Bitcoin with one miner?
As of November 3, 2026, one Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH (204 TH/s) hosted in Southeast US mines about 210,785 sats a month, net of fees. On its own it would take more than 50 years to mine a full Bitcoin, because network difficulty keeps rising and the halving around April 2028 cuts every miner's output in half. That is why a 1 BTC goal is a question of how many rigs, not how long you wait.
How many TH/s does it take to mine 1 Bitcoin?
To mine 1 Bitcoin in a year, about 8.2 PH/s (8,160 TH/s): 40 Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH rigs of 204 TH/s each, as of November 3, 2026. That is the same figure as the 1-year row in the table above. It counts fees, the site's performance guarantee and base-case difficulty. Over a longer timeline you need less hash rate, but the halving cuts what it mines in half.
Can you mine 1 Bitcoin a day?
The whole network only issues about 450 new Bitcoin a day. At today's difficulty, one Proto Immersion Hashboard 204TH mines about 6,925 sats a day, so 1 Bitcoin a day would take about 14,441 of them (2.9 EH/s). That is industrial scale. For an individual miner the realistic goal is a fraction of a Bitcoin, or a full one over a few years.
Can you mine 1 Bitcoin with a computer at home?
Not in practice. Bitcoin is mined with ASICs, machines built to do nothing but hash, and a home CPU or GPU is so much slower that it would not mine a Bitcoin in a lifetime. Home ASICs also need cheap power, cooling and tolerance for noise. Hosting puts the rig in a data center with industrial power rates, and the Bitcoin it mines still goes to your wallet.
How much does it cost to mine 1 Bitcoin?
It depends on what you pay per kWh, and that is what our Bitcoin mining calculator is for: it shows the production cost of a Bitcoin at each of our sites and compares it with buying one. See the cost to mine 1 Bitcoin.
Figures calculated November 3, 2026 from the same rig data as the calculator above, and refreshed daily. Try your own target above, or see what mining costs on the Bitcoin mining calculator.
